Another Friday the 13th...,great!

We have three Friday the 13th for 2009, last month, today, and another in November, this happens only every eleven years. Not good news for 'Paraskavedekatriaphobia' (yes there's a name for it)or fear of the number thirteen. Many tall buildings omit the number 13 from the elevators, some hospitals have no room 13, and some airlines have no airline terminal gate 13, start checking that out. Napoleon as well as two American Presidents, Franklin Roosevelt and Herbert Hoover feared the number. Diners in Paris sometimes hire a professional 14th guest (this is called a Quatorzieme). Mark Twain was once warned by a friend not to go to a dinner where he was the 13th guest, they only had food for twelve, bad luck for him he said in his writings. Another could be because the 13th guest at the Lord's Supper betrayed Jesus. Others base their superstitious fears from the off used number 13 because there are 12 months, 12 Days of Christmas, 12 Tribes of Israel,12 Apostles of Jesus, 12 eggs in a carton, and 12 signs of the Zodiac. Just a little tidbit of info, useless as it may be, thought I'd pass it along to add to my little of this a little of that.
